- Inspiration:My inspiration for “Sheer Autumn” came from looking at the plain looking jackets for fall and wondering “how can I make this more interesting?” So while my jacket is off-white, the lining is bright yellow with dots making it pop. The jeans are meant to look slimming with a little touch of edge with chains while the shirt is pattered making the colors stand our against the white of the coat.
- Fabric Details:Cotton blend (jacket); polyester/cotton blend flannel-backed satin (lining); semi-precious 100% polyester silky (blouse body); cut to order 100% polyester sheet (blouse bodice); 98%cotton/2%spandex fashion design (jean).
- Design Details:Darts, cuffs and buckle collar with heavy interfacing, lined (jacket); pink sheer empire waist band with gathering at bodice and neckline, collar and bottom band from cotton blend purple fabric, sheer closing in back with button at neck (blouse); topstitching, waistband, buttons, zipper, back patch pockets, front slant pockets with chains and charm (jeans).
- Judges Comments:Jacket and top design is innovative; inspiration statement relative to ensemble and well-written; great job illustrating specialized features of the ensemble.
