Top Ten Comic Moments 2008
This list might include some "older" comic events, but my list is stuff I read in 2008.

10. Libraries - I have been getting TPBs through my local library for about two years now. I head onto their website and place a crap ton of TPBs into my queue and when they come into my hold, i receive an email notification. Why buy ALL my trades, when I would only re-read ten percent of them again. I am paying taxes for this service and I am finally getting my moneys worth.

09. Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War - Geoff Johns knows how to write men in tights. The grand scope of this event was amazing. Johns has basically re-written Green Lanterns history and have totally fit its legacy back into modern continuety. Me loves you Geoff Johns.

08. 100 Bullets - Thanks to Gundy for borrowing me the first four trades. The first hit is free..... 100 Bullets is like a damned drug. Now I have to go out and purchase the rest of the trades because I HAVE to know how the story ends.

07. Justice Society of America - Geoff Johns and Dale Eaglesham have created a living breathing super-hero world that rivels any well done soap opera. I can't wait to read what happens next.

06 Superman - Geoff Johns and Gary Frank have created a character that I have NEVER cared for..... Superman. The team have made Superman/Clark Kent a complete "human" character. Frank's art shows the subtle detail that makes an alien a little less than "super" and more like a man. The folds in his costume or how Clark slumps a little bit. The fun is in the details.

05. Captain America - When I receive ANY issue/trade in my grubby little mittens, it would go right to the top of my "must read" pile. Some of the best spy/espionage stories out there. I even purchased the Ed Brubaker Omnibus this year because I love this book so much.

04. All Star Super-Man - I have only read the first volume so far and Grant Morrison's writing gave me goosebumps twice and I might have shed a tear or two. Frank Quietly's artwork BLOWS me away.

03. The Walking Dead - Robert Kirkman and Charles Adlard has put together THE PERFECT zombie book ever....... period. I am not the biggest zombie fan in the least, but Kirkman leaves me saying "oh crap" almost every issue. There are times when I don't want to turn the page because of what possibly could be coming my way.

02. Y: The Last Man - This series wrapped up this year and I can't believe how perfect it was for me. I have never had a comic book make me think about life changing situations more than this book. A true work of genius. I even purchased the first deluxe version of the graphic novel that came out in the fall.

01. No More Floppies - I have been batting this idea around for over a year, but made my decision firm this year. I still will buy a one off issue here and there, but I don't have any more room for long boxes. Trade paperbacks only.
