Men Wearing Capris

I was in California and saw a few men wearing capri pants. My jaw dropped, the slacks were NOT clam diggers, they were pants that you would expect Mary Tyler Moore to be wearing on the Dick Van Dyke television show. Maybe they are fashion forward, but I don't know if this look will catch on in middle America.
Capri pants have been around for more than 60 years, but they're just now becoming the fashionable thing for guys.
I wonder if that will be an acceptible look in a business?

Capri pants for men or women is NOT business casual for the workplace. But that is just my opinion.
