Cut Your Hair

I have waist length, straight, very dark black hair. It's all one length. It is VERY thick. I can't take it anymore. I want to donate 10" to Locks of Love. I need a "wash-n-go" hair style that is shoulder length or shorter. I don't mind using some product, and maybe even a little blow drying, but nothing that requires curling. I have an oblong/rectangle shaped head.
Any suggestions?

Keep your hair as long as you can. Shoulder length would look nice with a lot of layers like to almost the top of your head. Or maybe some side bangs that come to the eye brow.

Testing
You have a classic head shape. Bob your hair no longer than chin length. Give yourself time to adjust to the shorter length before you do anything more drastic.
